Values for real estate property is assigned a value by a licensed appraiser either when refinancing or purchasing real property. The appraiser will use recent sales of comparable homes in the area to determine a current market value. Several different factors are taken into consideration when assigning a value to a property, such as location, condition, number of stories, property specs such as sq. ft., bedrooms and baths, etc.
